| Customer Reviews: Jetscreamer not much louder than a scream August 31, 2010 Saguaroclimber I bought 2 of these. They are not loud, neither is as loud as a traditional whistle. They are light and simple. Molded plastic, no moving parts and certainly inexpensive to make. They appear to be durable. Should have cost much less, I'm disappointed in what they are and how they work considering how much they cost.
Great innexpensive whistle for survival and camping. June 19, 2010 P. Baack (Iowa, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Works great and is pretty loud, and it's plastic so if it's cold out it won't stick to your lips. It also doesn't rattle and comes with a short cord to go around you neck. Very light, too.

Bought this whistle based on the reviews here. Most were positive, but a few people commented on the whistles they received not being terribly loud.
I pulled mine out of the box and immediately blew it as hard as I could. My wife and dogs weren't terribly pleased with it, and I think my ears are still ringing a day later!
Definitely the loudest whistle I've ever heard.
If you want loud April 19, 2010 J. Gilbert (Florida, USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Then this is the whistle for you.
Took it on my son's cubscout camping trip. 100+ boys and parents, all talking over one another while the scoutmaster was attempting to put out an announcement... When I blew this whistle (plugging my own ears, of course), all voices stopped. Simple.
I'm not sure how far away this can be heard, but even where I work, in a industrial environment, it can be heard over the whine of a turbine going 1800 rpm and all the other steam equipment with it, even over on the other plant.
Best whistle I've ever owned.
It's pretty loud. October 7, 2009 doubleganger 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Mine is pretty loud. It's a good bit louder and easier to blow than a howler but slightly less loud than a Fox-40. I'm a little disappointed but I'll still use it. I'm really glad they came out with an orange version. That's what I was waiting for before buying one.
